In addition to providing free educational resources, Leaderboard offers scholarships every season for people who need them. The number of available scholarships is based on the total sold and sponsored. Education access can be prohibitively expensive for coffee workers, and scholarships are meant to provide free access to people who can’t afford to purchase the game. There is an application process to help Leaderboard understand who you are and what your needs are.
Unfortunately, people will always want and ask for free things. “We do get a lot of people that just want the game for free. And when you have a creep online, it's quite obvious that they could afford it if they wanted to,” shares Grant.
Jenn: You had talked about meeting people where they are and finding the channels for that. At what point do you think that you should not focus on too many channels? Because I can see it being like, Oh, well, they're on social media. They're on emails. They're in Discord. They're in a Facebook group. It's great to meet people where they are, but you're also going to have to maintain everything. How did you decide to go into a new place, or stop from joining a new place?
