IG Story Highlights, FB Algorithm Changes, My Own 2018 Goals
If you’re a business owner or a freelancer, you can probably relate to me right now. I’ve been researching & testing new CRM systems for the last two weeks. I’ve been on several sales calls, watched far too many walkthrough videos, and am still struggling to find the time to set this all up. ON TOP OF: still managing a full workload, still having to get my files in order for taxes, and still expanding where I can. The solopreneur life can be very unsexy.
My questions to you (my newsletter subscriber): What would you like to see from me? More writing in my blog about marketing? More coverage on certain topics? More plants? (Reply directly to this newsletter and I’ll get the email!)
My goals for this new fiscal year:
- Improve my systems: CRM, accounting, workflow, etc.
- Add new products & services: possibly sell some photo prints & create e-courses
- Say yes to things that scare me & no to more things
- Contribute photography & writing to a non-industry publication
- Grow something edible from seed
- Eat less chips (I am way too addicted to potato chips)

The Rising Pressure of the #MeToo Backlash
Excerpt below.
“What do you write about?” he asked.
“Well,” I said. “Lately, the Weinstein stuff … which everyone’s talking about all the time, anyway, and so it’s a little stressful.”
The doctor wrapped the cuff around my arm. “Let me ask you a question,” he said, sharply, as the cuff started to tighten. I got a familiar, awful feeling—a dissociative and desperate shimmer. I knew from his tone exactly what he was about to do. He was going to say that of course he was in favor of real victims speaking up, but he was worried that this whole thing was going too far.
