Vision boarding

A 2nd [slightly] unhinged, drastically redesigned draft of a magazine-like tanjennts.

Vision boarding
I took this on Friday at the Color of Coffee Collective drink + photos event, as part of a storytelling set demo. I brought my new prisms and attendees got to use them in photos (it is not a fancy ice cube).

I made a vision board today.

Not that I believe one has to have those words on there, but mine says “Vision Board.” You know, to remind me why I have a collage of random photos on my desktop. I am not one to collage anything. As a teen, my family went on a trip through Yosemite. With the best of intentions, I took disposable camera photos and in one of those journals people kept gifting me, painstakingly left big blanks for said photos & wrote in the appropriate captions. Did that ever get done? No. Not even one photo made it there.

In some ways, I’ve done my version of a board before, pinning quotes and goals on my cork boards. I set this new vision board as my laptop wallpaper, so when I’m working (on my monitor), my laptop on the side shows some imagery of what I want in my future.

I’m honestly not sure if vision boarding even works for me, but it’s not harming anyone and it only took 30 min to put together. What I do know is that when I reviewed my 2025 goals last month, I was hit with reminders of damn, I haven’t made any progress on this and totally forgot I put this here

Another thing I’ve done is list things I would spend money on once my business starts generating more revenue. But the catch here is that it has to be spent on something for me and not a reinvestment in the business. So I now have a decent list of products & services, linked to the companies, at varying prices. All of that makes the list feel more tangible, instead of the vagueness of “well, I’ll spend it on something, eventually.”

I probably made a vision board to exercise some control in this world that is spinning out. But it has also been unexpectedly grounding me when I need to remind myself what I’m working towards.
