Welcome to my new subscribers!
  • Made buttermilk biscuits for the first time via Tandem Coffee’s famous recipe. I had donated in 2020 to access the recipe but hadn’t had the energy to make them until this weekend. They’re so tasty and I highly recommend them!
  • I have two retainer coaching spots (minimum 3 months) opening up in the next few months. If you think you need marketing coaching, take a look at my services. I keep my coaching client count low both for my sanity and so I can be responsive to clients.
  • March 16 is the one-year anniversary of the Atlanta spa shootings. If you are looking for a supportive space and are Asian, there is a free group session coming up that is therapist-led.
Thanks for reading!

Normally, this section would have some original essay or short article that’s written for my newsletter subscribers. But as I was assembling the newsletter issue, I received news that I have to report in for jury duty (in SF, you’re on standby for a week and have to check every day if you need to go in the next day). Since I don’t know when I’ll be back tomorrow, I didn’t want to leave this newsletter issue unscheduled.
So instead, I’m linking you to the talk I presented last week for Barista League’s High Density program. The worksheet and slides are available for free to download. The talk is less than 15 minutes. It was also my first time talking to a camera and creating a downloadable worksheet, so please be gentle.
I am also offering a one-hour paid consult for those who have gone through the worksheet and would like feedback or actionable tips from me. All the info is on the page linked below.

Twitter added a way to pin lists in your timeline, updated the way that image descriptions are displayed, and introduced Shops (e-commerce shopping on the platform). It’s testing tweet awards (another monetization option for creators) and a podcast tab,
Instagram added a moderator option for livestreams and updated creator tags to give people collab credit. RIP to the Hyperlapse and Boomerang standalone apps.
In other news, LinkedIn now has a podcast network and YouTube answered some questions about its algorithm.

Got a new Calathea warscewiczii to replace one that has root rot. I replanted the old one to see if it could be rescued and it seems to be perking backup. Fingers crossed!
